Benjamin Ayres is proof that you do not need top billing to be everywhere on Hallmark. He has 21 films going back to 2016, yet only twice has he been the lead, which makes him the reliable second man: the friend, the foil, the small-town fixture you half-recognize before the title card. He has real chemistry to lean on too, having shared six films with Alison Sweeney, about as close to a regular screen partner as the network gives anyone. The work sits right where you would guess, eight Christmas titles and a dozen set in some small town, and he plays it straight rather than for laughs. His best-reviewed outing is Color My World with Love from 2022 at 7.3, with Miracle in Bethlehem, PA just behind. Watch enough of these and you have seen plenty of him, probably without clocking it.

Benjamin James Ayres is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Dr. Zach Miller of the CTV series Saving Hope. He also recurred on the Gemini Award–winning HBO Canada series Less Than Kind for which he was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. His first series regular role was Casper Jesperson, the chain-smoking sex addict who is morbidly obsessed with death, in the critically acclaimed cult hit CBC Television series jPod, based on the Douglas Coupland novel of the same title.
