The two finally speak honestly in a church on Christmas Eve, admitting that they had each been trying too hard to prove themselves instead of trusting the mission and each other. They use Michael's last feather to create the right final meeting, Daisy and Patrick finally connect, and Gabriel reveals that Monica and Michael were also being matched all along. The department is saved, the two angels are promoted to a life of love, and they end by dancing together.
