    Full story (spoilers)
Willow Petersen is a high-achieving hotel manager in New York City who is accustomed to being transferred every two years. She returns to her hometown in the Blue Ridge Mountains for the wedding of her sister, Juni. Upon arrival, she learns that the wedding venue's roof is at risk of collapse due to heavy snow. Willow suggests using Eagle Ridge Inn, her childhood home which her family sold after her father passed away. The current owner, David Lyndon, is a busy lawyer and single father who is preparing to sell the property to focus on becoming a partner at his firm. Initially resistant, David agrees to let Willow host the wedding in the barn after she argues that a 'spectacular' Christmas event will help stage the property for his prospective buyer, Robert. As Willow and David work on the barn and the inn, they bond over their shared history with the property. David reveals he is struggling to manage the inn alone after the death of his wife, Shelly, while Willow admits she has never felt truly settled in her career. A subplot involves David's daughter, Natalie, who has lost her favorite stuffed reindeer, Henry, which was a gift from her late mother. Willow organizes community events like carriage rides and a tree lighting to bring the inn back to life. The romantic tension peaks as they realize they have both been 'stuck'—David in his grief and Willow in her transient lifestyle. When the buyer, Robert, makes a formal offer on the inn, Willow is heartbroken but prepares to return to New York. However, while searching for the lost toy, David finds Henry tucked away with his father's old copy of 'A Christmas Carol.' This discovery serves as a catalyst for David to realize that the inn is his future, not just his past. In the climax, David pulls the inn off the market, declines the law partnership, and asks Willow to stay and manage the inn with him. Willow agrees, finally finding a permanent home.
