    Full story (spoilers)
The film begins with the arrest and subsequent conviction of Marcus Barlowe for the second-degree murder of Devina Adams. His sister, Casey, a brilliant law student and intern at the District Attorney's office, is convinced of his innocence despite Marcus admitting he stole Devina's necklace after finding her body. In her law class, Casey faces hostility from Eli Flint, Devina's boyfriend, who believes Marcus is guilty. Casey recruits her friends Sarah, a forensics intern, and PJ, a court intern, to re-examine the evidence. They discover that the police failed to test several items, including Devina's watch, which yields a set of latent fingerprints not belonging to Marcus or Eli. As the group—which they jokingly dub the 'Justice Warriors'—digs deeper, they enlist the help of Liam, a private investigator with a penchant for disguises. They discover that Devina was having a secret affair with Kurt Teller, a powerful property developer. The investigation reveals that Kurt had a history of suspicious relationships with young women, including a former intern who died years prior. Eli eventually joins the team after realizing he didn't truly know Devina's secrets. The plot thickens when Frank, the District Attorney and Devina's father, discovers Kurt's involvement and kills him in a fit of rage during a confrontation. Casey and her team pivot their focus to Kurt's wife, Rachel Teller, an interior designer. They realize Rachel had the motive to protect her lifestyle and the specific knowledge of boat rope used to bind Devina. Casey and Eli pose as a wealthy couple looking to hire Rachel for a loft renovation. During a tense meeting at a vacant property, Casey confronts Rachel with the details of the crime. Rachel, believing she is safe, confesses that she killed Devina because the girl was threatening to 'blow up' her life. The confession is recorded by the team and the police arrive to arrest Rachel. The film concludes with Marcus being exonerated and Casey deciding to join the conviction integrity unit to help others who have been wrongfully accused.
