Field Day

Jen Davis moves from Maine to her late husband Nate's hometown to give her daughter, Isabelle, a fresh start. On the first day of school, Jen is caught in her 'breakfast pajama pants' by the school's PE teacher, Dan Aldridge, while rushing to drop off Isabelle's forgotten lunch. Arriving late to a PTO meeting, Jen is assigned to the dreaded Field Day committee by the judgmental PTO President, Suzanne. She is joined by Kelly, a social media influencer obsessed with her 'Best Mom Friend' brand, and Marissa, a blunt, high-powered lawyer. The three women are initially reluctant partners but begin to bond over their shared status as social outcasts within the school hierarchy. The trio participates in a 'Pumpkin Bake' competition to win volunteers from Suzanne's committee, but they end up creating a 'caketastrophe' that goes viral. Seeking an escape, they visit a vodka pop-up bar where they dance to New Kids on the Block and realize they are all struggling with the pressure to appear perfect. Meanwhile, Jen and Dan's mutual attraction grows, though Dan has a self-imposed rule against dating school parents due to past heartbreak. Their first date is a disaster as they both overthink the risks of a new relationship and decide to remain just friends. Jen's emotional turning point occurs when her mother gives her a final video message from Nate. In the video, Nate encourages Jen to 'live, laugh, and love,' giving her his blessing to move on. This gives Jen the courage to pursue Dan and commit fully to her new community. On the day of Field Day, disaster strikes when a rainstorm hits and the school's sprinklers malfunction, flooding the field. Instead of giving up, the three moms rally the community to move the entire event into the gymnasium. The event is a massive success, Suzanne's social grip on the school is loosened, and Jen and Dan reconcile at the dunk tank. The film concludes with the three women cementing a genuine, lifelong friendship and Jen finally unpacking the last of her boxes, signaling she is truly home.
