It's a glossy be-careful-what-you-wish-for fable, made dizzier by a cast plainly delighted to be there. Cozy, and completely off the rails.

The crazy premise, explained: two old friends are transported into Wunderbrook, a village that exists inside a children's book they loved, where the locals perform assigned fairy-tale roles to heal the visitors who turn up. Brooke D'Orsay and Ryan Paevey lead. It is, basically, a magical pocket-dimension self-help retreat, complete with a designated "Witch" who is permitted to be cruel as part of the treatment. The more you describe it out loud, the stranger it gets. A gentle, uncanny, and surprisingly thoughtful watch underneath all the oddness.
