   The first film, and the right place to meet everyone. When Aurora's nephew Phillip and his roommate vanish the same night a college student is killed, she flatly refuses to believe the boys did it and starts digging. It also brings in her new neighbor, college professor Nick Miller. A clean origin for both the series and its central romance.

   Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: A Game of Cat and Mouse(2019)

   The best of the early run, and a treat if you read mysteries. A taunting clue left for Aurora opens a cat-and-mouse game with a criminal who plants puzzles lifted straight from classic detective novels. As the crimes climb and her own circle is targeted, she has to crack the literary pattern to stay ahead. Smart and genuinely tense.

   Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: A Very Foul Play(2019)

   A lovely meta hook: Aurora and friends decamp to a mountain resort for a true-crime convention and a murder-mystery dinner theater, and the staged killing turns real when an actor dies on stage with her cousin holding the prop weapon. A whodunit happening inside a whodunit, in the coziest setting imaginable.

   A poisoning at a wedding reception, with Aurora standing right there as a bridesmaid. The will that surfaces afterward turns her mother Aida into both a beneficiary and a fresh target, and the Real Murders Club gets to work. A textbook closed-circle setup: one room, one body, and a dozen people who all had reasons.

   Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Heist and Seek(2020)

   Directed by co-star Peter Benson, this one swaps the usual sleuthing for a heist flavor. A priceless crown vanishes during a Renaissance-themed library fundraiser, and a guard turns up dead, dropping Aurora into museum politics and professional thieves. The gala glamour gives it a different texture from the rest of the franchise.

   The milestone fans had been waiting for. It finally delivers the long-promised wedding, and earns it by raising the personal stakes first.

   A honeymoon gone delightfully sideways. A weather-delayed Paris trip becomes a lakeside cabin pre-honeymoon, where Aurora and Nick find a body in a drifting boat and end up dodging a shooter. The getaway-romance setup gives this one a sharper edge of real danger than the franchise usually allows itself.

   A solid mid-series case that leans on the mother-daughter dynamic. When one of Aida's real estate clients is found murdered, Aurora and Nick set out to solve it, tangled up in loan documents and a business rivalry. Nothing flashy, but it is a tidy, well-clued mystery with Marilu Henner getting plenty to do.

    Candace Cameron Bure's last film as Aurora, set at Halloween and atmospherically spookier for it. An old investigation reopens at a house the locals swear is haunted, the same place Aurora and Sally stumbled on a body as teenagers. A moody, dread-tinged sendoff for the original era.

    The soft reboot, and the place to start if you want the newer cast. Skyler Samuels takes over as a younger, library-science-student Aurora, with Evan Roderick as Arthur. When Sally's groom goes missing and a body appears at his condo, Aurora investigates with her information-science training as her main tool. A fresh entry point that resets the timeline.

    Death at the Diner: A Teagarden Mystery(2024)

    Retitled simply as a Teagarden Mystery, and noticeably more dramatic in tone. The owner of the diner where Aurora works is killed, and her new boyfriend Daniel becomes the prime suspect, so she sifts the clues to clear him. Grittier and more grounded than the Candace Cameron Bure films, with the younger cast finding their footing.

    A Lesson in Murder: A Teagarden Mystery(2024)

    The most recent, and the most fittingly bookish. A student from Aurora's true-crime literature class is found murdered outside the diner, and she chases the real culprit alongside Professor Lindo and Arthur. The clever twist is that the class syllabus itself starts feeding the investigation. A strong note for the newer team to land on.
