Viv Leacock has made a 14-film Hallmark career without once being top-billed, and that is the most interesting thing about him. He is the reliable supporting hand, and he keeps steady company doing it: Kellie Martin, Matthew MacCaull and Lucia Walters all turn up beside him again and again, the way an ensemble does when it sticks together across the Hailey Dean mysteries. That run gave him his best work, with A Will to Kill from 2018 at 7.0, just ahead of Killer Sentence. Notice what is missing too. Only one Christmas title since 2011, and the action mostly lands in a big city rather than under fake snow. He plays it straight, no winking at the camera.
