Legend of the Lost Locket

The film opens in 1822 Sussex, England, where a carpenter named James and a noblewoman named Lady Wilma Fanshaw are forced apart by class. Wilma gives James half of a locket gifted to Queen Elizabeth I by Robert Dudley, promising they will be reunited. In the present day, Amelia Scott, an antique dealer in London, discovers her late mother’s research suggesting James moved to Massachusetts, changed his name to Jacob Jameson, and founded the town of Wilmaton. Amelia travels there, but her car breaks down, leading to a meet-cute with Marcus, the town Sheriff and former Boston detective. Amelia's presence causes a stir when she attempts to access the town archives, which are closed due to budget cuts. After she is caught trespassing in the Town Hall by Marcus, the archives mysteriously go missing. Amelia and Marcus begin an uneasy partnership to find the archives and the locket. They visit Enid, the last descendant of the town founder, who possesses an embroidered sampler with a cryptic poem. A trip to Boston to restore a smoke-damaged portrait of the founders confirms that the locket was indeed in Wilmaton. However, Marcus becomes frustrated when he realizes Amelia kept the locket's true value a secret. The conflict escalates when Enid’s room is ransacked and the sampler is stolen. At the town's 200th anniversary Founders' Ball, Amelia and Marcus deduce that the thief is Poppy, the Mayor’s girlfriend, who has been stalking Amelia to find the treasure first. After catching Poppy, Amelia realizes the 'nursery' mentioned in the sampler's poem refers to the B&B where she is staying, which was the original Jameson family home. In a secret compartment in the nursery, Amelia and Marcus find the missing locket and historical letters proving the founders' true identities. In the end, Amelia decides to stay in Wilmaton, opening an antique shop and pursuing a relationship with Marcus, fulfilling her mother's dream and her own.
