Matthew Knight is one of those Hallmark faces you know from a single long run rather than a scattered resume. Across eight films from 2006 to 2014 he never top-bills, but he is part of a tight ensemble: Catherine Bell, Chris Potter, Catherine Disher, and Noah Cappe share seven films apiece with him, which is the giveaway that this is The Good Witch and its sequels. That franchise is also his ceiling, with The Good Witch from 2008 and its follow-ups landing at 7.1. He works the small town, and almost always in autumn rather than December, with just one Christmas title to his name. The premises run high-concept and a little spooky, which is the fun of it. Matthew Knight is a former Canadian actor known for his roles in Queer as Folk, as Ethan Morgan in My Babysitter's a Vampire, and as Jake Kimble in The Grudge film series. Since then he has appeared in over a dozen television series, more than ten television movies and a number of feature-length and short films. He has been nominated seven times for a Young Artist Award and has won twice, for his performance in Candles on Bay Street (2006) and Gooby (2009).
