The Jane Mysteries: Murder at Moseby

The film opens with Jane Da Silva returning to her roots at her uncle's Foundation after years of performing in Europe. The grainy image appears to show a figure loading a body into a car trunk. Haunted by 'Tell-Tale Heart' levels of guilt for not speaking up sooner, Anthony asks for Jane's help. Detective John Cameron is initially skeptical, dismissing the photo as trash being taken out, but Jane is compelled to find closure for both Anthony and herself. Jane adopts the undercover persona of 'Professor Emma Wiley,' complete with a 'raven-haired' makeover to fit the academic aesthetic. While teaching vocal arts and encouraging students to 'sing from the heart,' she gathers faculty gossip. She identifies three primary suspects who were present 15 years ago: Professor Yvonne Savage, who had a nervous breakdown; Professor Jacob Penn, a literary expert who keeps a raven mask in his office; and Dean Andrew Simpson, who was going through a messy divorce at the time of the incident. A breakthrough occurs when Anthony enlarges the photo to reveal a faculty parking sticker on the car. Jane's investigation shifts toward the school's administrative records. She discovers that the school changed its policy on undocumented students years ago, leading her to suspect the victim may have been a student whose disappearance was never reported. When she questions the Admissions office, she is told that records older than ten years are kept in 'deep storage' at a secure facility—a claim Jane finds highly suspicious. The tension between Jane's past with Anthony and her current partnership with John Cameron simmers as she closes in on the truth, suspecting a high-level cover-up by the college administration to protect the school's reputation.
