    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with lifestyle icon Liz Livingstone announcing her retirement and naming her daughter, Candace, as the next CEO of Livingstone Lifestyle. However, the board of directors, led by James Carlyle, is skeptical of Candace's ability to be the 'face' of the brand since she lacks her mother's domestic expertise. When a video from a young girl named Harper goes viral—requesting Liz's help to welcome her army-chaplain father, Steve, home for Christmas—Candace is sent to Cedar Falls to represent the company and win over the board. Upon arrival, Candace realizes she is in over her head; she cannot cook, knit, or craft. She is assisted by her social media manager, Anna, who helps her 'fake' her way through town events. She meets John Ryan, Harper's uncle and a reporter for the local Gazette, who is initially suspicious of her lack of skills. As Candace participates in a gingerbread competition and a sewing circle, she narrowly avoids disaster through quick thinking and Anna's interference. Meanwhile, John is pressured by his editor to find a 'scoop' on the famous Livingstone heir. Despite his professional skepticism, John and Candace grow close during the 'Christmas on Main Street' festival, sharing personal stories about their career pressures. The conflict intensifies when the town expects Candace to lead a massive homecoming dinner. Candace eventually abandons her mother's rigid, complex recipes in favor of a more personal, 'imperfect' approach that honors the Ryan family's own traditions. John discovers evidence of Candace's domestic incompetence but chooses to write a profile about her true character rather than an exposé. At the final party, Candace gives a public speech admitting she isn't the 'Queen of Crafts' and values authenticity over perfection. This honesty impresses the board chairman, who officially approves her as CEO. The movie concludes with Steve's surprise return, the successful town dinner, and Candace and John sharing a kiss, having found a relationship built on truth.
