Christmas in Evergreen: Bells Are Ringing

The film opens with Nick, a Santa-like figure, narrating the history of Evergreen, Vermont, and introducing Hannah Turner, a lifelong resident who has seen many friends find love in the magical town. Hannah and her boyfriend Elliot run the 'Turner Tinker Shop,' a hybrid art and repair space. While Hannah is passionate about the town's traditions, Elliot reveals he has applied for funding to open a second, larger location in Boston, feeling he is living in the shadow of the town's expectations. Hannah is soon recruited by Mayor Michelle Lansing to manage the new Evergreen Christmas Museum, housed in an old hat factory. The project faces an immediate hurdle when Jeb Cooper, the embittered brother of the factory's owners, arrives to contest the building's use, feeling the museum trivializes his family's failed industrial legacy. Simultaneously, Michelle's wedding plans are thrown into chaos; her fiancé Thomas is stuck at a logging camp in Maine due to a record-breaking storm, and her father Gordon arrives with a new girlfriend, Bea, causing friction with Michelle’s sister Sonya. As the Christmas Festival approaches, Elliot receives his funding and assumes Hannah will move to Boston with him, leading to a temporary separation as they realize they want different things. Hannah focuses her energy on the museum, creating a special exhibit that honors the Cooper family's hard work rather than their financial failure. Though Jeb initially threatens to shut the museum down on Christmas Eve, he is moved by a video testimonial from his sisters and Hannah's sincere tribute, ultimately signing the contract. Michelle and Thomas, unable to be together physically, hold a moving virtual vow exchange via video link. In the climax, Elliot realizes he cannot leave Hannah or the community that defines him; he decides to keep the flagship store in Evergreen and only travel to Boston as needed. The film concludes with the successful opening of the museum, the reconciliation of the town's families, and a celebration of the 'Evergreen' spirit where traditions and new beginnings coexist.
