Here is the thing about Jesse Metcalfe: he never plays second fiddle. He top-bills all nine of his films, the run stretching from 2010 to 2021, which tells you the network builds the picture around him. He is also a warm-weather lead, not a Christmas one. Only two of the nine are holiday titles, and five lean into summer and the familiar small-town backdrop instead. He keeps it earnest, too, with none of the high-concept strangeness some leads chase. His best-reviewed turn is A Country Wedding from 2015 at 6.9, with Christmas Under the Stars and the Martha's Vineyard mystery Ships in the Night just behind at 6.8. He has steady company on set, often sharing the frame with Chelsea Hobbs across five films. If you want a dependable lead and a summer premise you can read off the poster, he is your man.
Jesse Eden Metcalfe is an American actor. He is known for playing John Rowland on Desperate Housewives. Metcalfe has also had notable roles on Passions and played the title role in John Tucker Must Die. He starred as Christopher Ewing in the TNT continuation of Dallas, based on the 1978 series of the same name. From 2016 to 2021, Metcalfe starred as Trace Riley in Hallmark Channel's hit series Chesapeake Shores.
Across 9 films, Jesse frequently leans into Christmas, often plays a doctor and is usually set in small towns.
