Heather Hemmens is the rare Hallmark lead who would rather pack a passport than a parka. Since her 2019 debut she has carried seven of her ten films, and only one of them is a Christmas title, which makes her something of an outlier on a network that runs on December. Summer is more her speed, and so are far-flung locations, with several of her films set abroad rather than in the usual snowed-in main street. Her best-reviewed is The Groomsmen Last Dance from 2024 at 6.9, with Come Fly with Me close behind at 6.8 and the lone holiday outing, Christmas in My Heart, sitting at 6.5. She plays these straight, no winking, no high-concept gimmicks. If you want a Hallmark lead who takes you somewhere warm, she is a reliable pick.

Heather Hemmens is an American actress, film director, and film producer. She is best known for her role as Alice Verdura in The CW series Hellcats (2010–2011). She starred as Stacy Collins in the Netflix comedy Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! opposite Jamie Foxx and starred as Maria DeLuca in the series Roswell, New Mexico (2019–2022). Previous credits include the OWN series, If Loving You Is Wrong, where she played Marcie Holmes for five seasons.
