Harvey Frost is the kind of name that shows up in the credits, not the poster, and across a dozen films from 2004 to 2015 he was the steady hand directing and writing behind the camera. He had a real fondness for the holidays. Six of the twelve are Christmas titles, and when he wandered out of small towns he liked to put the story in a big city, which gives some of his films a brisker, less snow-globe feel. His high point is a 2007 tie, A Grandpa for Christmas and Love's Unfolding Dream, both sitting at 6.9, with A Soldier's Love Story from 2010 just behind at 6.8. He kept things conventional and warm rather than strange, the comfort-viewing register played straight.
