    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The protagonist has a literal physical allergy to weddings that causes hives and sneezing.
    • The protagonist has left the same man at the altar twice already before the movie even really starts.
    • The antagonist intentionally induces an anaphylactic-style reaction in herself to win a chocolate competition.
    • The mother suggests Charlotte embrace being a 'spinster' because it doesn't have the same stigma it used to.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with Charlotte Bennett leaving James Cooper at the altar for the second time, much to the frustration of the guests and the heartbreak of James. James decides he cannot go through the humiliation again and cancels all future wedding plans, telling Charlotte he wants someone who 'wants to get married, not just be married.' Charlotte, encouraged by her best friend Hannah, realizes she is miserable without him and decides to 'uncancel' the wedding by planning it herself to prove her commitment. However, Charlotte suffers from a bizarre psychosomatic condition where the mere thought or presence of wedding-related items—like dresses or flowers—causes her to sneeze and break out in hives. Simultaneously, Charlotte is competing for a chance to win a storefront in Times Square through a contest run by 'Chocolate Monthly.' The editor-in-chief turns out to be Nicole Sweeney, James's ex-girlfriend from five years prior. Nicole still has feelings for James and uses her position to stay close to him, even buying him 'classy' clothes to replace his mechanic's attire. Charlotte becomes increasingly paranoid and jealous, leading to a major blunder where she accidentally sabotages James's attempt to buy back his grandfather's 1966 Beaumont Convertible at an auction because she assumes he is on a date with Nicole. As the chocolate competition reaches its climax, Charlotte creates a new flavor called 'S.J.' (Sweet James). Nicole, sensing she is losing James, attempts to sabotage Charlotte during a public tasting by intentionally eating a chocolate she knows contains strawberries—which she is allergic to—and then blaming Charlotte for the 'attack.' James eventually sees through Nicole's manipulation. Charlotte confesses her love and her readiness to marry him, explaining that he is what keeps her heart beating. James tries the 'S.J.' chocolate and describes it as an 'out of body experience.' In the finale, despite Charlotte's car breaking down on the way to the church, she hitches a ride in a delivery truck and finally makes it through the ceremony without hives, successfully saying 'I do' to James.
