    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with champion downhill skier Justin O'Neill at the 2018 American Sports Awards, fresh off a stint on the reality show 'Celebrity Fox Trot.' Despite his fame, Justin is struggling to recover from a devastating knee injury sustained in Austria and has lost his professional coach. His manager, Anna, convinces him to return to his hometown, Winter Mountain, to train for the upcoming Winter Classic. Upon arrival, Justin reunites with his parents, Tom and Gretchen, who run the local lodge. He soon crosses paths with Kayla Green, a talented ski instructor and the daughter of his late former coach. Anna suggests Kayla coach Justin for the week, believing her 'no-nonsense' approach is exactly what he needs. Kayla initially puts Justin through humbling exercises, including training on the 'bunny hill' with children and attending intense Bikram yoga sessions to improve his balance and mental focus. As they spend time together, Justin and Kayla address the rift in their friendship caused by Justin's departure for the professional circuit years earlier. Meanwhile, a secondary romance develops between Justin’s friend Wyatt, an aspiring doctor, and Kayla’s sister Jenny. The tension rises when Justin is pressured by a potential new sponsor, Snow Voltz, who doubts his ability to return to form. Simultaneously, world-class skier Nancy Sieber offers Kayla a dream job coaching her in Europe, which would require Kayla to leave Winter Mountain just as she and Justin are falling in love. During the town's winter carnival, Justin finally wins a ring toss game he’s failed at for years, symbolizing his return to form. On the eve of the race, Justin realizes that his happiness lies in his roots rather than the fame of the circuit. In a surprising move, he announces his retirement to the press just moments before his final run. He delivers a record-breaking performance, winning the Winter Classic and proving his skill one last time. The film concludes with Kayla revealing she has found a way to coach Nancy professionally from Winter Mountain, allowing her to pursue her career dreams while staying with Justin.
