    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens at the Willow Lake Inn in Michigan, where Mick Turner is struggling to write romantic wedding vows for his upcoming marriage to Olivia Pershing. His brother James and Olivia tease him about his writer's block, noting that as a professional songwriter, expectations are high. The inn's quiet atmosphere is interrupted by the arrival of Curt Simms, a mentee of Mick's and a burgeoning action movie star, and his fiancée Autumn, a successful children's book author known for her 'Majestic Mia' series. While Curt and Autumn initially desire a simple, private wedding, the arrival of Curt's publicist, Sean, complicates matters. Sean insists that Curt perform a press interview for his new film, 'Winter's Chill,' which violates Curt's promise to Autumn to keep their wedding week work-free. To mitigate the risk of paparazzi, Sean convinces the couple to grant an exclusive to 'Expose' magazine, which leads to a series of 'upgrades' that strip the wedding of its personal touch, including a celebrity guest list and a lighting gaffer. Parallel to the wedding stress, Mick receives a call from his agent offering him a national solo tour. The tour is a massive opportunity but starts in two weeks, directly conflicting with his and Olivia's original wedding date. Mick initially declines to protect their plans, but Olivia, wanting him to fulfill his dreams, insists they move their wedding up to the day after Curt and Autumn's. As the week progresses, disasters strike the Simms-wedding: Autumn's dress is ruined by water damage during shipping, and the baker cancels. A visit to a local baker named Hector at 'Artsy Tartsy' proves disastrous when he offers bizarre flavors like lavender-caviar and dill-weed caramelization. James eventually steps in to save the day with his famous carrot cake. The tension between Curt and Autumn peaks when Curt reveals he bought a house in Malibu without consulting her, leading Autumn to fear she is becoming a mere extension of his career. She briefly calls off the festivities to seek space. In the climax, Curt realizes his selfishness and apologizes to Autumn, acknowledging that fame is meaningless without her. They decide to scrap the media-circus wedding and marry in a private, intimate ceremony a day early. They resolve to make Michigan their home base while keeping the Malibu house for occasional visits. Following their successful union, Mick and Olivia finally hold their own wedding. Mick abandons his prepared speech for a heartfelt declaration that Olivia is his 'home.' The film concludes with the two couples celebrating their respective futures, with Mick and Olivia finally married and ready to face Mick's upcoming tour together.
