Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance

The film begins with Dr. Heather Lawrence, an avalanche expert, conducting field research on snow speeds. Her college friend Eric, who manages a resort in Glacier National Park, recruits her to install her new forecasting system to satisfy insurance requirements and protect skiers. Heather's sister Riley, who is undergoing her final, financially-draining round of IVF, joins her for a 'sisters' trip' after their Hawaii plans fall through. Upon arrival, Heather meets Chris Parker, the rugged Director of Mountain Rescue, during a public demonstration where he 'buries' her in a snow hole to simulate a rescue. The two immediately experience friction; Chris is a traditionalist who believes technology cannot replace human intuition, while Heather argues that data saves lives. As Heather sets up her monitoring towers, she and Chris spend time together on the mountain. Despite their professional disagreements, they find common ground through skiing, where Heather proves she is more than just a 'city scientist.' A subplot involves Sonya, a local masseuse who has a crush on Chris and treats Heather with passive-aggressive jealousy. Heather eventually learns the source of Chris's skepticism: his wife Regan, a mountain legend, died in an avalanche years prior because she relied on a forecast that proved inaccurate. This trauma has made Chris distrustful of any system that might give a false sense of security. Meanwhile, Riley struggles with the stress of her pregnancy test window, and Chris's daughter Samantha, a talented avalanche dog trainer, encourages her father to open his heart to Heather. The tension peaks during a rescue mission for two stranded skiers. Heather’s technology predicts a massive slide at Apgar Gulch, a path Chris intended to take. Though initially hesitant, Chris chooses to trust Heather’s data and redirects his team. Moments later, the gulch slides exactly as Heather predicted, saving the rescue team's lives. In the aftermath, Chris apologizes for his dismissiveness and acknowledges that science and intuition must co-exist. He asks Heather to stay in Glacier permanently to join the team, and the two share a romantic embrace, while Riley receives hopeful news regarding her future.
