    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens at the lavish 60th birthday party of Larry Brady, a wealthy but financially troubled investor. During the event, Larry argues with his former partner Walter Meadows over unpaid debts and is later found dead in his study by photographer Sandy. The death is initially attributed to a heart attack. Shortly after, Larry's attorney, Ian Hathaway, visits Jennifer Shannon's antique shop to consign Larry's extensive vintage camera collection. While inspecting a camera, Jennifer accidentally triggers the shutter and realizes there is still film inside. She takes it to a specialist, Manny, who develops three photos: one of Jennifer, one of Sandy in a blue dress, and a final, chilling image of a hand in a dark suit injecting Larry Brady with a syringe. Jennifer brings the evidence to Detective Frank Lynwood. An autopsy reveals Larry was killed with potassium chloride, a substance that mimics a heart attack and is used in Walter Meadows' restaurant as a salt substitute. Jennifer's investigation leads her to several suspects: Walter, who needed Larry's money to save his business; Larry's brother Scott, who felt overshadowed and resentful; and Peter, a caterer who was unaware his girlfriend Sandy was having an affair with Larry. Meanwhile, a subplot involves Jennifer's partner Dani hiring two temporary employees—the strong but clumsy Travis and the knowledgeable but frail Kenneth—leading to comedic friction in the shop. As Jennifer digs deeper, she is stalked by a mysterious blue car and receives a warning note. She discovers Larry's nephew, Tony, has been living in a secret, soundproof darkroom inside the Brady mansion. The breakthrough occurs when Jennifer realizes the camera used to take the murder photo had a red filter attached. This filter caused Sandy's bright blue dress to appear black in the photograph, meaning the killer's 'black' suit was actually blue. Recalling that Ian Hathaway was the only person at the party wearing a blue suit, Jennifer confronts him in the secret darkroom. Ian confesses to embezzling Larry's fortune to cover gambling debts and threatens Jennifer with a gun. Frank Lynwood arrives just in time to apprehend Ian. The film concludes with the shop's hiring dilemma resolving itself as both temps find better-suited jobs, and the Shannon family gathers for a portrait using Jason's newly restored vintage camera.
