    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • A reality TV producer stealing evidence from a crime scene to 'heighten the tension' of a pilot episode.
    • The use of peanut oil vapors as a untraceable murder weapon for an elderly woman with an allergy.
    • The killer staging an overdose by manually emptying morphine capsules into the victim's mouth after she was already dead.
    • A puzzle box that contains a map of the room it is currently sitting in.

    Full story (spoilers)
Jennifer Shannon is filming a reality TV pilot for her antique business, 'Rags to Riches,' alongside her partner Dani and producer Joel Jacobs. During filming, Tamara Andronicus brings in an intricate puzzle box that belonged to her recently deceased mother-in-law, Elizabeth. Tamara wants the box opened to ensure no personal items are inside before selling it. Shortly after the visit, the box is stolen from the store. When Jenn goes to the Andronicus estate to apologize, she discovers Tamara’s body at the bottom of the stairs—the same location where Elizabeth died just days earlier. Detective Frank Lynwood initially suspects accidents, but Jenn notices inconsistencies, including a bottle of peanut oil in the trash despite Elizabeth's fatal allergy and morphine powder found in Tamara's mouth. As Jenn investigates, she meets the Andronicus men: Lucas, the grieving husband; Quin, the estranged brother and linguistics professor; and Harvey, the ruthless patriarch of Andronocorp. Meanwhile, a subplot follows Jenn’s son Logan, who is trying to pay off a $1,800 debt after a car accident, and her daughter Hannah, who begins a 'no-pressure' romance with Officer Brett Ryan. Jenn discovers that the producer, Joel, actually stole the puzzle box to create 'drama' for the show but returned it in a panic after the murder. Jenn teams up with Quin to solve the box’s ciphers, eventually decoding the phrase 'Family is Forever.' The box's interior design acts as a map of the Andronicus library. Jenn realizes the ciphers point to a hidden compartment behind a family portrait. She finds a letter from Elizabeth revealing that Tamara was having an affair with the family lawyer, Allan Demetry. In the climax, Harvey Andronicus confronts Jenn with a gun in the library. Jenn deduces the full truth: Tamara killed Elizabeth using peanut oil to prevent her from revealing the affair, and Harvey killed Tamara by pushing her down the stairs and staging an overdose to protect the family name from scandal. Lucas intervenes, convincing his father to surrender. The film ends with the Andronicus brothers reconciling, Logan successfully raising money by selling his collectibles, and the family gathered to watch the premiere of Jenn's reality show.
