    Full story (spoilers)
Hannah starts the day promoting her company’s new Valentine’s launch, a luxury chocolate line called "What’s Inside Your Purse?" She is good at the marketing side of the business but is tired of dating apps, singles events, and the pressure of the holiday. At the same time, Finn is trying to push through a gallery show featuring a new direction in his photography, though he is restless and skeptical about Valentine’s Day and romance in general. Hannah ends up in Finn’s LaneTrip car on her way to a work party, and after a chaotic seat swap and a bout of motion sickness, they find a ring box in the back seat. Realizing it is an engagement ring meant for that night, they decide to help return it before midnight so they do not ruin someone’s proposal. The search gives them a reason to spend the entire evening together, and their clashing attitudes—Hannah’s romantic optimism and Finn’s cynicism—turn into lively banter. Their ring hunt becomes a citywide scavenger hunt through Manhattan: a florist, a cooking class, a club, and other stops tied to Finn’s many rides and deliveries. Along the way they keep missing each other’s deadlines, get tangled up in traffic and parking headaches, and discover that they both prefer real connection over performative romance. As they spend more time together, they open up about their work, their past relationships, and what they want from the future. Hannah admits she has been taking a break from dating because of the wrong relationships, while Finn reveals he has been hurt by Valentine’s Day and is trying something new with his art. The emotional center of the story deepens when Hannah and Finn witness other couples working together, especially during the cooking-class stop, where they are forced to cooperate in the kitchen. They also get pulled into a brief dance-floor detour at the club, which unexpectedly becomes a turning point: both realize they are enjoying each other’s company far more than they expected. Their running commentary about fate, obligation, and whether people do kind things for the right reasons slowly gives way to genuine admiration. With time running out, they identify the likely couple at Bartholomew’s and rush them to the roof just in time for the fireworks. The ring belongs to Juan, who proposes to Emily in a heartfelt moment, and the proposal succeeds. Hannah and Finn part ways briefly for their respective work obligations, but the night clearly leaves them changed. After finishing his show, Finn comes back to Hannah, choosing her over the rest of the evening and telling her he left because there is only one her. He asks her out on a date, presents a simple candy-ring gesture, and she happily says yes. The movie closes with their kiss, suggesting that the unexpected Valentine they spent chasing for someone else has become their own love story.
