    Full story (spoilers)
Abby Porter is a rising web star in the lifestyle space, hosting a series called 'New England My Way' that emphasizes traditional East Coast aesthetics. Her manager, Gina, secures a meeting with Michael Carrington, a home-goods mogul who wants to launch a product line with Abby because of her 'authentic' New England roots. However, Abby is secretly from Langston, Texas. When her father, Wes, is injured in a horse-riding accident, Abby returns home to help, though she and her father have a strained, stoic relationship. Upon arrival, she discovers the new ranch manager is Ryan, her high school boyfriend whom she left behind to pursue her education and career. While in Texas, Abby struggles to maintain her facade. She films 'New England' content on her father's porch, using tight camera angles to hide the Texas landscape. When Carrington video calls her, she is forced to lie about her location, claiming she is in Greenwich and identifying local Texas chickens as 'Bridgeport Bantams.' Meanwhile, she helps Ryan stage his family home for sale and encourages him to market his 'Yellow Rose' barbecue sauce. As they spend time together, the old spark between Abby and Ryan reignites, though Ryan is hurt when he realizes Abby is still pretending to be someone else for her career. The conflict reaches a head when a fan posts on social media that Abby was spotted in Texas, exposing the lie to Carrington. Simultaneously, Abby has a heart-to-heart with her father, who reveals a hidden scrapbook of her achievements, proving he was always proud of her despite his inability to express it. Ryan confesses he never stopped loving her but prepares to move on as she is set to return to the East Coast. However, Carrington and Gina arrive in Texas; rather than firing her, Carrington reveals he loves the 'Yellow Rose' sauce and the 'Taste of Texas' concept. Abby decides to stay in Texas, rebranding her show to 'A Taste of Texas' and partnering with Ryan to turn the ranch into a destination, finally embracing her true identity.
