Lee Friedlander works behind the camera, and over twelve films from 2016 to 2024 she has quietly become one of the names Hallmark hands a script and trusts to land it. Her movies live in small towns, usually in winter, and a third of them are Christmas titles, so she knows her way around a snowy main street. The strongest work she has directed is Love, of Course from 2018, which at 6.7 sits just ahead of Switched for Christmas from the year before. Her films average a respectable 6.5, and there is a slightly stranger streak running through them, a willingness to take a high concept and play it for real. If you want a Hallmark December that is built with a steady hand, her name in the credits is a good sign.
