    Wait, what?

    • The 'Bridal Stress Syndrome' is treated as a semi-serious medical diagnosis by the characters.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens at the Willow Lake Inn, where Mick Turner and Olivia Pershing are celebrating their successful business season. Mick surprises Olivia with a romantic reservation at L'Auberge, but their getaway is immediately threatened by the arrival of three choir-group interns and the news that Olivia's daughter, Grace, is coming for a visit. Simultaneously, we meet Abby Russo and Rob Attwell; Abby is a talented artist working as a barista who feels intimidated by Rob's wealthy family. When they visit Rob's parents' massive estate, Abby hears about their 'perfect' wedding and begins to feel that her own plans for a simple barn wedding with daisies are inadequate. Upon arriving at the Inn early, Grace announces her engagement to Eric, a musician, which sends Olivia into a flurry of motherly wedding planning. Mick, wanting to give Olivia space with her daughter, takes over the coordination for Abby and Rob's wedding. Abby, influenced by Rob's sister Kelsey and the legend of the Attwell parents' wedding, begins requesting drastic changes: moving the ceremony to a remote field, changing the cake to pistachio, and swapping her daisies for expensive French blue hydrangeas. Mick faces a logistical nightmare as he discovers the Inn's tent is ruined, transportation is limited, and the requested flowers are out of season. Meanwhile, a subplot develops as Grace reveals she plans to put her life on hold to go on tour with Eric's band, causing tension with Olivia. The conflict reaches a head when Rob's parents arrive and reveal the truth: their 'perfect' wedding was actually a disaster involving a muddy field, ruined shoes, and a pistachio cake they both hated. Realizing she was chasing a false ideal, Abby reverts to her original vision. The movie concludes with a successful barn wedding, Grace and Olivia reconciling over the tour plans, and Mick presenting Olivia with a 'promise ring' at a romantic riverside setup, reaffirming their commitment to each other without the pressure of immediate marriage.
