    Full story (spoilers)
The film begins with Laurel Couper balancing her successful banking career in Memphis with her life as a single mother to her daughter, Emma. After a successful branch opening where her boss, Mr. Franklin, promotes her to Vice President, Clay Sheppard takes her to Graceland. There, he proposes, revealing they have been together since the previous Christmas. They discover a sudden cancellation at the Graceland Chapel for June 1st, giving them only three weeks to plan. The conflict ignites when their parents arrive: Laurel’s father, 'The Major,' and his refined wife Isabelle, and Clay’s parents, Trish and Tyler. Trish wants a massive, flashy celebration with 'Wedding Elvis' bears and confetti cannons, while Isabelle and the Major prefer a small, traditional, and 'tasteful' affair. Clay’s mother hires a high-end wedding planner, Allie Monroe, who ignores the couple's wishes for simplicity in favor of orchids and gold tool. Tensions rise during a 'pounding party'—a Southern tradition where guests bring kitchen staples—and a disastrous golf outing where the Major expresses doubt about Clay’s career as a musician. The stress peaks when Clay asks Allie to scale back the 'harps and doves,' causing her to quit and take all the vendors with her. Just as the wedding seems doomed—compounded by the minister catching the flu—the parents realize their interference has pushed the couple to the breaking point. The Major finally reconciles with Laurel, admitting he suppressed her musical talent out of fear for her future. In the end, the families work together to DIY the wedding. Laurel’s boss, Mr. Franklin, reveals he was a military chaplain and steps in to officiate. The couple marries in an intimate ceremony at the Graceland Chapel, followed by a reception featuring a surprise performance by country star Lee Brice.
