    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The obsession with '2.3 kids' as a specific life goal.
    • The recurring pitch for 'Pink Prissy Kitty' gender-specific cat food.
    • A man claiming he was bullied by a kid who 'flicked his ears' as a major origin story.

Why we’d put this one on

Nicky Whelan plays a high-strung ad exec who lives the worst Valentine's date of her life, then wakes up reliving the same day on a loop after a fairy godmother named Marta, played by Marina Sirtis, casts a spell. It is Groundhog Day with a 19-point checklist for the perfect man and a recurring pitch for Pink Prissy Kitty gender-specific cat food. Greg Vaughan is the down-to-earth flower delivery guy. Weirdness 8, rating 5.9. The loop premise is the draw here, a goofy, low-stakes do-over romance that knows exactly how silly it is.

    Full story (spoilers)
Katherine Mackenzie is a perfectionist ad executive who relies on a literal list of traits to find her ideal partner. Her Valentine's Day starts poorly: she struggles with a high-stakes pitch for 'Le Chat Qui Mange Bien' cat food, and her 'perfect' date with Bradley—a man who fits her list—ends in disaster when he reveals he hates dogs and is allergic to her pet, Zacky. After a cynical rant about the non-existence of soulmates, she meets Marta, a mysterious woman who claims to be her fairy godmother. Marta informs Katherine that she has already spoken to her soulmate today and will relive the same day until she connects with him. Katherine wakes up the next morning to find it is February 14th again. Initially, she tries to 'solve' the loop by dating every man she met: Kenneth the pretentious poet, Roger the dog walker, and Peter the fitness enthusiast. Each date fails because Katherine is being 'strategic' rather than authentic. She eventually begins to notice Danny, a flower delivery man she repeatedly bumps into. She discovers Danny was once a successful investment banker who quit to find more meaning in life. As she spends more time with him, she helps him deliver flowers and experiences the genuine joy of human connection. In a pivotal loop, Katherine realizes the absurdity of her corporate life and intentionally sabotages her pitch by mocking the idea of 'gender-specific cat food' (Pink Prissy Kitty). She chooses to spend the evening with Danny at her father's engagement party, finally realizing that he satisfies her needs rather than her superficial wants. By opening her heart and being her true self, she breaks the spell. She wakes up on February 15th, the loop finally over, and receives a text from Danny, confirming their connection is real.
