    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The protagonist is literally named Clark Gable and his sister is Justine Gable.
    • The movie star love interest is actually a 'decoy' who helps the lead get back with his ex-girlfriend.
    • A major Hollywood star moves into a random video store owner's house because of a leaky sprinkler.
    • The protagonist's signature romantic move is making a 'grilled macaroni and cheese sandwich.'
    • The film features a meta-plot where they are filming a Hallmark-style movie within a Hallmark movie.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with Clark Gable, a local video store owner in the town of Stone's Throw, dreaming of a glamorous life with movie star Helena Harris. He is jolted awake by news that Helena and her famous ex-boyfriend, Roberto Molinez, are arriving in town to film a romantic comedy titled 'This Magic Moment.' Clark's life is further complicated by the return of his ex-girlfriend Emily, who is back in town following a divorce. Clark meets Helena at the local inn when he is mistaken for a bellman; she is amused by his name and his charm. Through his friend Phil, a limo driver, Clark gets a job as an extra on the film set. During a scene, the regular actor is late, and Clark is thrust into a role where he must kiss Helena. The kiss is captured by local media, sparking rumors of a 'whirlwind romance.' Helena, tired of Roberto's arrogance, decides to play along with the rumors to make Roberto jealous. In exchange, she agrees to read a screenplay Clark has written. As the production continues, Roberto sabotages Helena's hotel room by setting off the sprinklers, prompting Helena to move into Clark's family home with his mother Maryellen and sister Justine. This proximity allows Clark and Helena to bond; he takes her to 'The Cameo,' his family's shuttered movie theater, and she provides professional notes on his script. Meanwhile, Emily, feeling sidelined by Clark's new famous friend, accepts a date with Roberto to annoy Clark. The tension peaks at the film's wrap party when Roberto publicly proposes to Helena. Realizing she no longer loves him and that their relationship is based on artifice, Helena eventually turns him down. Clark also has a moment of clarity, realizing that while he wants to be a screenwriter, he doesn't want the Hollywood lifestyle or Helena—he wants Emily. Helena leaves town but leaves Clark a transformative gift: she pays for the full renovation of his family's theater and helps him sell his script to a major studio. The film concludes months later at the premiere of Clark's own movie, 'A Million Reasons,' held at the renovated Cameo theater, with Clark and Emily happily reunited.
