    Full story (spoilers)
Abby Vandenbrink works for Davidson's in Chicago, where she is known mainly for repairs even though she dreams of creating original jewelry designs. During a tense showcase, she finally tries to present her work, but the moment is interrupted by a call from Belgium: her grandfather’s Antwerp shop is in arrears, and her name is tied to the trust. Realizing the family business is in trouble and that her grandfather has not told her everything, Abby uses her time off to travel to Antwerp and help. Back in Belgium, Abby reconnects with her grandfather, Bompa, and learns that the shop is behind on payments and short on help. She also steps back into the old-world energy of the Antwerp Diamond District, where she helps a customer outside a closed shop and meets Alexander Remy, the son of her grandfather’s longtime rivals. Their first interaction is prickly, but there is immediate chemistry, and their shared devotion to craftsmanship quickly becomes obvious even as they argue about tradition, marketing, and what gives jewelry value. Bompa encourages Abby to enter the Antwerp Diamond Festival competition, a prestigious showcase with a sketch phase and an execution phase, plus a large cash prize that could save Vandenbrink’s. Abby is hesitant, but she decides to compete and begins designing while also trying to bring fresh attention to the family shop. Alexander, meanwhile, is being pushed by his father, Peter Remy, to represent Remy and Sons and to embrace business-first strategies, even though he is more creative than his father realizes. As Abby and Alexander secretly spend more time together, they begin helping each other professionally: Abby gives Alexander a way to think visually and emotionally about design, while he helps her with presentation, outreach, and the practical side of making her work visible. Their bond deepens through shared meals, a dance at the Carats and Cupids event, and talks about home, family, and past heartbreak. They kiss, but both know the relationship is complicated by distance, their families’ rivalry, and the fact that Abby is expected to return to Chicago. The competition and the romance both hit obstacles when Peter’s pressure on Alexander intensifies and Abby’s boss Nadia unexpectedly arrives in Antwerp, raising the stakes of Abby’s visibility. At the finals, Alexander withdraws after learning his father has tried to manipulate the outcome, and Abby is devastated to lose both the man and the grand prize. Still, she earns the Audience Favorite Award, Nadia recognizes the buzz around her, and Abby later sells the valuable family diamond her grandfather gives her to settle the mortgage and secure Vandenbrink’s future. In the end, Alexander reconciles with his father, who finally sees him for who he is rather than as a stand-in for his brother Matthias. Alexander returns to Abby, explains that he needed time to choose his own path, and admits that meeting her helped him find his way back home. Abby decides Antwerp is her home after all, and the story closes with the two of them choosing each other and the life they want to build.
