    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The concept of 'Postal Detectives' operating out of a secret room behind a wall.
    • A legendary mail carrier named Harry Snapp who hid in the building to scratch lottery tickets.
    • Norman's 'unremitting convulsive stomach syndrome'.
    • The 'Area 51' cocktail made with almond milk and cactus root.
    • A museum dedicated entirely to barbed wire.
    • An engagement ring shaped like an owl that is lost in a laundry service and found in a snowboot.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film begins with a 1999 flashback where three sisters—Peggy, Mary Lou, and Bunny—mail a porcelain vase to an art dealer in a desperate attempt to save their family farm. In the present day, Shane accidentally breaks through a wall in the Dead Letter Office, revealing a secret room used by Harry Snapp, a mail carrier who vanished 18 years prior. Inside is his final delivery bag, containing the waterlogged vase and a heartbreaking letter from 10-year-old Mary Lou explaining that their father died in a tractor accident and their mother is incapacitated by grief. Oliver and the team track the vase to the Kellser farm in Edgewood, Colorado, where they find the family still struggling and facing an imminent foreclosure auction. Meanwhile, Rita’s eccentric hippie parents, Bill and Sunny, arrive from Albuquerque to meet Norman. Norman, suffering from 'unremitting convulsive stomach syndrome' due to nerves, accidentally loses Rita's owl-shaped engagement ring in the laundry. As the POstables investigate the vase, they learn from an expert that it is an 18th-century masterpiece worth over $300,000, but further research by Shane and a special agent reveals a dark history: the vase was confiscated from the Rubel family in 1939 by the Nazis. Oliver travels to New York to facilitate a satellite call with Mary Lou, now a war correspondent in a combat zone, to get her consent to handle the vase. The team is devastated to tell the Kellsers that the vase must be returned to its rightful owner, Johann Rubel, meaning it cannot save the farm. However, at the auction, a mystery bidder—the O'Toole Foundation—buys the farm for $400,000. Oliver reveals he is using his inheritance to turn the farm into a sustainable agriculture education center, allowing the Kellsers to stay and hiring Rita’s parents to run it. Mary Lou returns home for a tearful reunion, and Norman finally finds the engagement ring in a snowboot, leading to a formal proposal. The film concludes with Oliver and Shane agreeing to 'go steady' under a set of quirky rules.
