    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The concept of 'Postal Detectives' who treat lost mail like high-stakes crime scenes
    • Rita's official title as 'Miss Colorado Special Delivery' involving ribbon cuttings for stamp machines
    • Oliver's refusal to use modern slang or the internet, described as a 'human antique'
    • A subplot involving a weatherman named Ramon who is a former cliff diver and speaks 'all romance languages'

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with the 'Postables'—Oliver, Shane, Rita, and Norman—attending a ceremony for a new automated stamp dispenser where Rita serves as 'Miss Colorado Special Delivery.' The team soon discovers a damaged envelope from two years ago containing a wedding ring and divorce papers addressed to a 'Caitlyn.' While investigating the ring's origin, Shane discovers a returned letter that Oliver had mailed to his estranged wife, Holly, in Paris months prior. Fearing Oliver's reaction, Shane and Rita open it, discovering Oliver had asked Holly to return. Shortly after, Holly herself appears at the Dead Letter Office, having finally received the letter due to a postal delay. Meanwhile, the team tracks the ring to Joey Castelluci, a restaurant owner. Joey explains that two years ago, he suspected his wife Caitlyn of cheating and mailed the papers in a fit of despair before being injured in a car-jacking. During his recovery, Caitlyn never left his side, and they reconciled; Joey now begs the team not to deliver the papers. The conflict reaches a head at a comedy club where Caitlyn is performing. It is revealed that her 'secret' meetings two years ago weren't an affair, but comedy lessons intended to make Joey laugh again during their financial struggles. Joey publicly re-proposes to her, and the marriage is saved. In the personal arc, Oliver meets Holly at the Brown Palace Hotel. They realize that while they still care for each other, they have grown into different people; they agree to part ways and finalize their divorce. Feeling like an outsider to Oliver's history, Shane prepares to quit the postal service and move away. However, Oliver stops her by installing a porch swing at her home—a reference to a childhood story she told him about the arrival of spring. He confesses how much she has filled the 'hole' in his life, and they watch a crocus bloom, signaling a new beginning for their relationship. Simultaneously, Norman finally finds the courage to tell Rita he loves her, and she reciprocates.
