    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The protagonist is an angel who doesn't know how to sit in a chair or use a door handle.
    • A dog named Tommy is actually a high-ranking angel who communicates non-verbally.
    • Harry claims to have taught William Shakespeare how to play gin rummy in heaven.
    • The angel mentor uses magical wind to knock over a man with a broken leg to facilitate a conversation.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film begins in the celestial realm where Celeste, an experienced mentor angel, expresses concern over Harry Mills, an eccentric angel receiving his first human assignment. Harry arrives on Earth and immediately struggles with the physical world, failing to understand how to sit in chairs, use keys, or knock on doors. His mission is to help Addie Folsom, a woman with dyslexia whose self-esteem suffered after her father's death, causing her to flee from her true calling in medicine. Harry is given a cover as a literature professor at a community college in Tacoma, teaching 'A Christmas Carol.' He is warned by Celeste to stay out of trouble with his boss, Mr. Conceito, and to avoid romantic entanglements with humans. Harry is placed in a house next door to Addie. He discovers that Addie’s childhood rival, Erich, has returned to town and is staying with his mother, Julie, after a skiing accident. When Addie's mother and Julie plan a cruise, Harry and Celeste intervene to ensure Addie becomes Erich's primary caregiver. Initially, the two clash due to past resentments; Addie believes Erich always looked down on her, while Erich reveals he actually admired her father and struggled with his own father's abandonment. Harry’s attempts to help are often clumsy, such as trying to force Addie into a job at her father's clinic or giving her a 'Number One Coach' trophy to boost her self-esteem. The conflict peaks when Erich’s ex-girlfriend, Victoria, arrives to 'take over' his care, causing Addie to retreat into her old patterns of running away. She attempts to drop Harry's class, but Harry uses the themes of Dickens' novel to show her that people can change their own narratives. He helps her read the final chapter of the book and facilitates her finding a hidden letter from her late father, which expresses his immense pride in her. This emotional breakthrough gives Addie the confidence to finish her degree. In the climax, Addie passes her final exam with flying colors, impressing even the skeptical Mr. Conceito. At a community tree-lighting party, Addie and Erich realize their feelings for each other and share a romantic moment. Having successfully completed his mission, Harry is granted permission to stay on Earth for more assignments, continuing his journey as a bumbling but effective 'Mr. Miracle.'
