A breezy opposites-attract setup with a fun premise: Alex, a cautious copy editor played by Katrina Bowden, enters a contest to become a staff travel writer, which means throwing herself into extreme sports in Colorado with the help of a famous photographer, played by Thomas Beaudoin. The self-described "walking catastrophe" trying to become brave in a week is the whole pleasure here. There is a great montage where she goes from human pile-up on the chairlift to so-called warrior in seven days, and her stuffy city boyfriend gets mockingly nicknamed "Lord Barton." Lots of snow, a likable lead, and an easy push to step outside your comfort zone.
