This is Lacey Chabert doing the fish-out-of-water thing on another continent, and it works. Her cautious Chicago web designer inherits a South African wildlife reserve from a great-uncle she barely knew, and she has to decide whether to sell it to a resort chain or fall for the place and its head ranger, Tom. The South African scenery is the real co-star, and the film knows it. My favorite touch is a giraffe casually poking its head through her bedroom window like it pays rent. There is also a character who admits she invents African proverbs to win arguments. Press play for the animals and Chabert's easy charm.
