    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with the deathbed scene of Karl Dietz, a wealthy benefactor who dies in hospice while ranting about his legacy and 'making amends.' Jennifer Shannon and her business partner Dani attend his estate auction, where Jennifer outbids a mysterious Frenchman named Jacques for a 1910 Vestone-Dobrott player piano. Meanwhile, Jennifer's friend Helen Bauer believes a painting at the auction belonged to her family in Germany before the war. Shortly after the auction, Jennifer's friend Dean, an instrument restorer, is attacked in his shop, and the piano is vandalized. Detective Frank Lynnwood investigates, initially suspecting Jacques or a local musician named Howie Nash. Jennifer discovers that Jacques is actually an ex-inspector for the European Ministry of Criminal Affairs who has been hunting Dietz for years, believing him to be a corrupt East German official who smuggled stolen art into the US. A subplot involves Jennifer's son Logan using statistical analysis to help his basketball team, and her daughter Hannah tutoring a star football player. Jennifer finds a masterpiece painting hidden behind a cheap landscape Helen bought, confirming that Dietz was hiding high-value loot. The stakes rise when the auctioneer, Conrad Siles, is found shot to death. Jennifer eventually realizes that a specific piano roll—Mozart's 'Fantasia in D Minor'—is actually a map. With Logan's help, she deciphers the perforations as GPS coordinates and a seat number for the Dietz Recital Hall. Jennifer and Jacques find a secret vault under a VIP seat in the hall, but they are confronted by Carolyn Turner, Dietz's granddaughter. Carolyn reveals she murdered her grandfather by injecting an air bubble into his IV and killed Siles to protect her claim to the stolen art. Carolyn is apprehended, the art is returned to its rightful owners (including Helen), and Logan's basketball team wins their game using his new strategies.
