A Godwink Christmas: Miracle of Love

The film begins with Joy Fickett graduating early with a Master of Science in Nursing, intending to follow her late mother's footsteps by volunteering abroad. Meanwhile, Eric Fellman, a former divinity student who left the path to the pastorate to pursue news writing, is encouraged by his father to find his true calling. The two meet at the airport due to a car-service mix-up—both are heading to the 'Advent in Oshkosh' fellowship program. Under the mentorship of Katie and Dr. Louis Graber, Joy and Eric are tasked with helping the Romero family, who lost their home and all possessions in a fire. Joy works in the local clinic while Eric writes for the community newsletter. They bond over shared histories, discovering they both grew up in Columbus and attended the same church, a connection Katie labels a 'Godwink'—a divine coincidence. As they work on 'Operation Home for the Holidays' to furnish the Romeros' new house, Joy feels increasingly distant from her boyfriend Danny, who is busy planning their future without her input. The tension peaks when Joy realizes she has feelings for Eric but feels bound by her past with Danny. After the project is completed and the Romeros move in, Joy attempts to return to her life in Ohio but realizes she cannot ignore her feelings. She breaks up with Danny and attempts to return to Oshkosh. However, Eric is involved in a horrific accident when a snowplow's brake fails, crushing him. In a major 'Godwink,' Dr. Graber had just attended a seminar on a specific, rare surgical technique for liver ruptures that very afternoon. Joy returns to the hospital and stays by Eric's side; his vitals, which were failing, stabilize only when she is present. Eric makes a full recovery and is offered a writing job in Oshkosh. The film ends on Christmas morning with Joy's father visiting, and the couple celebrating their new life together, acknowledging the divine hand that brought them together.
