Zack Shada

Zack Shada is a one-franchise man, and that franchise is Jane Doe. Across a short, tidy run from 2005 to 2008, all eight of his Hallmark credits land in the same big-city mystery world, with the same faces beside him every time: William R. Moses, Joe Penny, Lea Thompson and Jessy Schram, all sharing the full set of eight. He never top-bills any of them, which suits the work. These are ensemble whodunits, not romances, and he plays them straight rather than for laughs. The ratings sit in a narrow band, with the best of the bunch, Jane Doe: Eye of the Beholder from 2008, edging ahead at 6.3, just shy of The Wrong Face and The Harder They Fall. If you like a low-key Hallmark mystery with a settled cast, his short stint is worth a look.
