Patrick Duffy turns up in Hallmark movies the way a familiar face shows up at a small town gathering, never the one the story is built around but always good to see. Across six films from 2006 to 2021 he has never top-billed, and that is fine, because he is the kind of actor a network slots in to steady a picture rather than headline it. Four of the six are Christmas titles, and almost everything happens in a small town, which suits him. He plays it straight, no winking. His two best are tied at 6.7, Love Takes Wing from 2009 and The Christmas Promise from 2021, with The Mistletoe Secret close behind at 6.3. He works with a different cast every time, no fixed partner. If you like a sturdy supporting hand in your holiday viewing, he has quietly been there.
