Wedding Planner Mystery

Carnegie Kincaid is a perfectionist wedding planner in Seattle, currently handling back-to-back weddings for the wealthy Perry family. At the first wedding for Diane Perry, Carnegie encounters Aaron Gold, a persistent reporter she forcibly removes, and Holt Walker, a handsome man she mistakes for a waiter but who is actually the family lawyer. The celebration turns tragic when the bride's cousin, Michelle Perry, dies in a car crash after an argument with her boyfriend. While the police suspect Michelle was driving drunk, Carnegie suspects foul play after a professional wedding crasher known as 'Queen Mary' mentions seeing a man tampering with the car. Carnegie's suspicions grow when her own brakes are sabotaged, and she finds a silver business card case at the scene of Michelle's accident. Meanwhile, the Perry family patriarch, Douglas, is embroiled in a massive tax evasion scandal with his former partner, Keith Guthridge. As Carnegie prepares for Nicky Perry's wedding, she is suddenly fired by Nicky's stepmother, Clara, and Holt Walker, who present doctored receipts suggesting Carnegie has been embezzling thousands from the wedding account. The mystery deepens when Queen Mary is killed in a hit-and-run, and Nicky is kidnapped on her wedding day. Carnegie realizes Holt Walker is involved when she recognizes his 'Switchblade' brand cologne—the same scent she smelled when her home was burgled. Holt attempts to frame Carnegie for the kidnapping by planting Nicky's necklace in her home. Carnegie teams up with Aaron Gold to track Holt to a remote cabin. There, they discover that Clara Perry is the true mastermind; she embezzled from the family firm and orchestrated the kidnapping to extort $10 million from her husband and prevent him from testifying in the tax case. Clara traps Carnegie and Nicky in a basement and turns on the gas, intending to cause a fatal explosion. Carnegie uses her lock-picking skills (honed from years of rescuing flower girls from bathrooms) to escape. Aaron arrives with the police just in time to arrest Clara, Holt, and the chauffeur, Theo. The film concludes with Nicky and Ray finally marrying, and Carnegie beginning a romantic relationship with Aaron, who presents her with a bouquet he caught at the wedding.
