    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    Full story (spoilers)
Helen is a talented but cautious florist working at her Aunt Carol’s shop in Brooklyn. Her best friend, Henry, a botanist at the local botanical gardens, constantly encourages her to take risks, specifically by naming and entering her unique 'Mystery Rose' into an international competition. Henry invites Helen to the Brooklyn Metropolitan Art Gallery’s Black & White Gala held at the botanical gardens. At the event, Helen is separated from Henry and shares a magical, anonymous encounter with a masked man who seems to share her poetic sensibilities and love for flowers. They dance and tour the gardens, but Helen leaves before they can exchange names, leaving behind only the memory of the 'Mystery Rose' boutonniere he was wearing. Determined to find him, Helen and her assistant Beth use a sales receipt to identify the man as Charles Bradfield, a prestigious lawyer. When Helen meets Charles, he appears to be the perfect 'Prince Charming'—he is wealthy, well-traveled, and seemingly romantic. However, as they begin dating, it becomes clear that Charles lacks the deep botanical knowledge the masked man displayed. Meanwhile, Henry reveals that the botanical gardens are in dire financial trouble and are being sold. The conflict peaks when Helen discovers that Charles is the lawyer brokering the deal to sell the gardens to developers who plan to replace them with luxury condos. As Henry prepares to move to Arizona for a new job, Helen realizes that her connection with Charles was a facade; Henry was actually the one who provided Charles with the romantic information and the perfect 'first edition' Emily Dickinson gift that Helen cherished. Realizing Henry is her true soulmate, Helen makes a final stand to save the gardens by appealing to investor Andrew Grey, using the 'language of flowers' to convince him of the venue's emotional value. She breaks up with Charles and calls Henry just as he is boarding his flight. In the final scene, Henry reveals he stayed behind, and he proposes to Helen in the gardens, finally receiving the 'Crystal Valentine' rose she named in his honor.
