    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The extreme 'blind' competition logistics where contestants are literally whisked through hallways to avoid seeing each other.
    • The coincidence of two exes being the only two people in a national competition to make it to the finale.
    • The sister's 'Parent Trap' style manipulation of a national television show to fix her brother's love life.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film begins in Bailey's Fork, North Carolina, where Kelly McIntyre runs a successful bakery. Her quiet life is disrupted when her ex-fiancé, Andrew York, returns from Paris, where he has become a renowned pastry chef. Their reunion is awkward, as Andrew left five years prior to pursue his culinary dreams, leaving Kelly behind. Simultaneously, celebrity chef Maneet Chauhan arrives at Kelly's shop to invite her to compete on 'Four Square Cooking' in New York City for a $100,000 prize. Kelly accepts, keeping her participation a secret from everyone except her friend Sara. In New York, the show's producers go to extreme lengths to keep the contestants' identities hidden from one another, using separate dressing rooms and transportation. Kelly is surprised to run into Andrew in the city; he claims he is there to help a friend open a restaurant. They begin spending their evenings together, sharing hot dogs and visiting a famous cheesecake diner, unaware they are actually competing against each other during the day. Andrew's sister, Dawn, is revealed to be the one who nominated both of them for the show, hoping the competition would force a romantic reconciliation. As the competition progresses through rounds themed around 'Enduring Love' and 'Puppy Love,' Kelly and Andrew both excel, outlasting professional chefs from across the country. The tension peaks during the finale, themed 'Marry Me,' where the contestants are finally revealed to each other. They are shocked to find they are the final two. They are tasked with creating a proposal cake, and both ironically choose to bake the same four-layer honey almond cake they co-created years ago. Kelly is ultimately declared the winner by Maneet Chauhan. Following the finale, Andrew realizes that his success in Paris is meaningless without Kelly. He reveals that he has used his savings to buy Kelly's parents' restaurant, the Main Street Cafe, to prevent it from being sold to strangers and to ensure he can stay in Bailey's Fork. In the final scene, at the cafe's reopening on Valentine's Day, Andrew proposes to Kelly with a ring hidden in a non-edible treat. She accepts, and they celebrate their second chance at love with the whole town watching.
