    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The recurring concept of the 'small-town honk and wave' as a specific social ritual.
    • Graham's $1,200 designer cowboy boots being a major plot point for his 'authenticity' struggle.
    • A tech billionaire search-engine creator dating a Hallmark protagonist is a high-stakes backstory for a cozy film.

    Full story (spoilers)
Sarah McKinney, a talented interior designer in New York City, finds herself the subject of tabloid gossip after her boyfriend, tech titan Eric Gold, dumps her for a famous actress. Seeking solace and a break from the paparazzi, she returns to her childhood home, the McKinney Ranch in Colorado, to spend Christmas with her brother Cody and Uncle Roy. It is the first Christmas since the passing of her Aunt Beth, and the family is struggling; Uncle Roy is so grief-stricken that he has canceled the traditional tree-lighting ceremony, and the town's Christmas parade is also at risk. Sarah decides to take on the parade organization to honor Beth's memory. Hollywood star Graham Mitchell arrives in town, seeking to 'method act' as a rancher for an upcoming $50-million film. He approaches the McKinney ranch for help, but Sarah—who has a deep-seated aversion to actors due to her mother's career-focused absence and her recent breakup—initially refuses. However, she eventually strikes a bargain: she will teach Graham the ropes of ranching if he uses his labor and celebrity status to help her execute the Christmas parade. Graham moves into the bunkhouse and struggles with manual labor, including a humorous incident involving his $1,200 designer boots and a misunderstanding of the 'small-town honk and wave.' As they work together, Graham reveals a vulnerable side, explaining that he lost his parents young and finds the holidays lonely, which is why he usually works through them. Sarah begins to soften, but the arrival of Graham's co-star, Nicole Collins, creates a romantic misunderstanding. Sarah assumes they are a couple, unaware that their relationship was a publicity stunt. Meanwhile, Sarah discovers that Uncle Roy is secretly planning to sell the ranch because he can no longer manage the finances or the emotional weight of the property without Beth. The tension culminates when Graham is called back to Los Angeles for a mandatory studio press event on Christmas Eve. Sarah, feeling abandoned once again by a man in the spotlight, tells him to leave and that their 'deal' is done. However, Uncle Roy gives Graham a moving speech about a 'missed train' and a ticket he kept for years, encouraging him not to let his chance at happiness pass by. Graham defies the studio and stays, appearing as the Grand Marshal of the parade and helping Sarah organize a surprise tree-lighting ceremony. In the resolution, Sarah decides to leave her New York life behind to run the ranch full-time, Uncle Roy agrees not to sell, and Graham commits to a relationship with Sarah, finally finding the home and family he was looking for.
