    Full story (spoilers)
Emma Rivera is frustrated with modern dating and feels adrift in her own life, especially after a breakup and a string of disappointing apps experiences. That changes when she receives a frantic, garbled call from her father Ian, who is researching emperor penguins in Antarctica. Fearing he is in trouble, Emma rushes to Buenos Aires, catches the Antarctic cruise ship, and sneaks aboard without the required paperwork or permit. Once on the Vega, Emma is mistaken for part of the ship’s engineering team and meets Andy Jackson, a mechanical engineer heading to the research base. Andy initially believes she is a colleague, but he quickly realizes she has stowed away to reach her father. Although he objects to the danger and the rules she has broken, he agrees to help her keep a low profile and look into Ian’s situation. As the ship travels south, Emma and Andy are forced into close quarters and begin to enjoy each other’s company while trying to stay ahead of the watchful chief officer Ingrid and her right-hand man Martin. Emma disguises herself as crew to move around the ship, and Andy uses his technical access to contact the Antarctic base. They learn that Ian is not missing in the way they feared; rather, he has been distracted by a rescue problem involving a penguin named Lola, who has been separated from her mate Hugo when an ice floe breaks away. Emma reaches the research base and finally reunites with her father, only to discover that his distress call was really about the penguin colony. Ian explains that Lola is stranded beyond a dangerous stretch of water and killer whales, and that the only way to save her is to stop the ice from drifting and bring the floe back to shore. Andy helps Emma understand the physics and designs a plan involving a submersible, a heated drill bit, and a winch system to anchor the ice. The rescue becomes urgent when Ian is injured re-securing the tether, but the injury turns out to be minor and his heart condition is just indigestion. Emma and Andy race to finish the plan before the storm worsens. With Ingrid ultimately choosing compassion over punishment, the team executes the rescue and successfully reunites Lola with Hugo, who has been waiting and keeping their egg warm. In the aftermath, the adults celebrate the successful rescue, and Emma and Andy acknowledge that they have fallen for each other. Although Emma must return to the ship to avoid further trouble, Andy admits he cannot stop thinking about her, and she returns the feeling. The movie ends with a classic Hallmark-style happy ending framed by the Antarctic landscape, Emma’s story of Lola and Hugo, and the promise that Emma and Andy will find a way forward together.
