    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • Jacques repeatedly compares Isabella to a 'little bulldog' as a romantic compliment.
    • Jacques suggests Isabella sneak into a professional lunch by pretending to be his mother, Margot.
    • The high-stakes resolution involves a 'crusher destemmer' machine crisis handled via international phone calls.

    Full story (spoilers)
Isabella Ricci is a talented winemaker in Oregon who wants to modernize her family's winery, Ricci Ridge, but struggles to find a distributor. Her Uncle Travis secretly enters her Pinot Noir into the 'Le Grand Prix des Vins du Monde' in Paris. Upon arriving at her Parisian hotel, Isabella mistakes Jacques Fournier, a guest and rival winemaker, for a bellman and tries to tip him with a bottle of her wine. They meet again at a wine bar where Isabella challenges Jacques and his traditionalist brother, Maurice, to a blind taste test. After correctly identifying three obscure wines, she wins a wager that allows her to attend exclusive winemaker events. Jacques, charmed by her talent, begins showing her the sights of Paris, including a boutique perfumery where they discuss the 'alchemy' of their respective crafts. As the competition progresses, Jacques reveals he is at odds with Maurice over the future of Chateau Saint-Fournier; they have both entered wines to see whose style—traditional or modern—will prevail. Isabella faces her own crisis when her winery's equipment breaks back in Oregon, but she manages to solve the problem from afar with Jacques' encouragement. A major turning point occurs when a volunteer smashes Jacques' competition wine; Isabella selflessly helps him source replacement bottles from a local restaurant, Chez Reboul, ensuring he isn't disqualified. At the Awards Gala, Isabella wins the silver medal and Jacques wins the gold. However, the night ends in heartbreak when Isabella reads a magazine quote—actually said by Maurice but attributed to Jacques—dismissing her wine as 'table wine.' She flees back to Oregon, feeling betrayed. Weeks later, Jacques arrives at her Oregon vineyard. He explains the quote was a mix-up caused by the brothers swapping ID badges and reveals he has sold his share of the family business to Maurice. He proposes a new partnership: a joint venture between Burgundy and Oregon to create a masterpiece wine, sealing the deal with a romantic reconciliation.
