    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The protagonist treats a wedding bouquet as a semi-sentient matchmaking entity.
    • The invention of the fake month 'Decembruary' to cover up a lack of dating.
    • The 'Alexcalibur' and 'Jo No Mercy' cornhole nicknames.
    • A wedding ring being fished out of a duck pond by a park ranger.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with Josie Hughes, a non-profit founder and bouquet enthusiast, preparing a handmade floral arrangement for her friend Emma's wedding. Josie explains the 'lore of the bouquet'—a family belief that the flowers find the person meant to be married next. At Emma and Ted's wedding, Josie catches the bouquet, much to the surprise of her roommate Athena, who is in a long-term relationship with Brian. Shortly after, Josie has a 'meet-cute' with Will Forsythe, a wealthy lawyer, when she accidentally steps on his feet. Believing Will is the man the bouquet intended for her, she begins dating him. While Josie is swept up in the 'signs' of her romance with Will, her best friend Alex Balfour struggles with his secret feelings for her. Alex is an urban developer who is offered a career-changing job in Chicago but hesitates to accept it because it would mean leaving Josie. As Josie and Will's relationship progresses, Will's company sponsors Josie's non-profit, which Josie interprets as another sign of destiny. However, subplots reveal cracks in the 'magic': Athena and Brian get engaged, but their path to the altar is plagued by mishaps, including a ring lost in a duck pond, a ripped dress, and a fire that destroys their venue. Josie begins to worry that by catching the bouquet, she accidentally stole Athena's luck. The emotional turning point occurs during a double date with Josie, Will, Alex, and Alex's date, Marissa. Josie realizes that Will is a workaholic who doesn't share her love for old movies or sentimental gestures, whereas Alex understands her perfectly. After Alex accepts the Chicago job out of a desire to move on, he writes Josie a heartfelt love letter. At Athena and Brian's engagement party, Josie finally realizes that Will isn't 'the one' and breaks up with him. She discovers Alex's letter and stops him before he can leave for Chicago. They confess their love, realizing that their 'beautiful friendship' was the real destiny all along. The movie ends months later at Josie and Alex's wedding, where Emma has started a new career as a wedding planner and Josie finally wears her desired wedding sneakers.
