    Full story (spoilers)
Mira Simon is a low-level employee at 'Your Page,' a social media company, who spends her time fantasizing about becoming a CEO. On April Fool's Day, she engages in a series of pranks: she tells her sister Sophie she is dating a wealthy restaurateur named Liam after a literal collision in the street; she tells her best friend Jonah she is moving into a luxury apartment; and she jokingly texts Jonah that she has been promoted to VP. In a surreal turn of events, all three jokes manifest as reality. The CEO, Erin, gets stuck in an elevator with Mira, hears her pitch, and promotes her to VP of Creative Development. Liam Henderson, the man she ran into, tracks her down to return a scarf and asks her out. Finally, the company offers her a massive corporate townhouse as part of her new executive package. As Mira settles into her new life, the fantasy begins to crumble. Her promotion causes friction with her colleague Michael, who was passed over for the job, and her team begins to resent her for being an inattentive, self-absorbed leader. Her relationship with Liam, while seemingly perfect, reveals him to be a man who doesn't actually listen to her; he surprises her with a 16-course tasting menu when she is on a deadline and buys tickets to a country music concert despite her hating the genre. Meanwhile, Jonah, a talented graphic artist, reveals he is writing a children's book called 'Peggy the Tidy Pig.' When a competitor, 'Our Friends,' launches a website using Mira's exact idea, she realizes there was a leak or they were simply scooped. Jonah gets a book deal and decides to quit the company, leaving Mira feeling isolated. Facing a crisis, Mira tries to resign, but Erin encourages her to rise to the challenge. Mira humbles herself, apologizes to her team, and listens to their collective input. They develop a revolutionary 'Cube' interface that solves the technical glitches their competitors are facing. Mira breaks up with Liam, realizing they are incompatible. At the launch party for the new site, Mira sees Jonah's new book and realizes he has been in love with her all along. She tracks him down at their favorite bar, 'The Flaming Fishhook,' where they drop their 'Earl and Raylene' undercover personas and confess their feelings, with Mira finally choosing reality over her manufactured fantasy.
