Christmas Class Reunion

The film opens in 2007 at Brookswood High's winter formal, where class president Elle Chamberlain is obsessed with perfection. A series of minor disasters, including a flood caused by Devin Ryan's slippery shoes, cements the class's reputation as 'cursed.' Fifteen years later, Elle is a high-powered CTO at a tech company called Zigg, recently featured in Wired magazine's '35 Under 35.' She returns home to Connecticut to plan the 15-year reunion, hoping to finally break the curse. She is dismayed to find that her primary vendor is Devin Ryan, who now runs his family's event rental business, 'Liv It Up.' While Elle is meticulous and data-driven, Devin is laid-back and spontaneous. As planning begins, Elle's professional life implodes when she learns Zigg is under federal investigation for legal trouble involving the CEO, Tom. She keeps this a secret while reconnecting with her old friend group: Katie and Jay, the 'perfect' high school sweethearts who are secretly separated; Sam, an aspiring news reporter seeking a big break in New York; and Kam, the former salutatorian and Elle's old crush. Elle also bonds with Devin's 13-year-old daughter, Skylar, a fellow coding enthusiast. Disaster strikes when the reunion venue, the Hotel Grand, suffers fire and water damage. Elle and Devin are forced to pivot, eventually convincing their former principal (who now works as a professional Santa Claus) to let them use the high school gym. During the setup, the tension between Elle and Devin turns into a romantic spark as they realize they have both changed. At the reunion, a massive snowstorm hits, causing a power outage and trapping the class in the gym. Kam tries to win Elle over by offering 'crisis management' for her career scandal, but Elle realizes he only cares about her status. She rejects him, choosing to embrace her uncertain future. In the subplots, Katie and Jay reconcile after admitting their marriage became too focused on work, and Sam receives news that she landed her dream job in New York. The power returns just in time for a final dance. Elle makes a speech about how the 'curse' was actually just the unpredictability of life. The film concludes with a flash-forward to the following year: Sam is a successful reporter, Katie and Jay are expecting a baby, and Devin proposes to Elle, who has joined his business to help modernize it while staying in her hometown.
