    The premise

A small toy company CEO gets a once in a lifetime offer to merge with a mega toy company but will need her estranged ex-business partner's signature to seal the deal.

Themes:Passion vs. ProfitSecond chancesThe importance of playWork-life balanceIntegrity in business

    How unusual is it?

More than most. Santa is real, Santa himself, an enemies-to-lovers arc and a second-chance romance push it well past the usual Hallmark template — the strangest 12% of everything we've logged.

    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The protagonist's legal name is 'Christmas' because she was born on December 25th.
    • A multi-million dollar corporate merger is legally stalled because of a childhood friend's signature on a 'toy hospital' desk.
    • The 'Santa' character, Nick, is heavily implied to be the literal Santa Claus, possessing teleportation-like knowledge of the characters' locations.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film begins with a flashback to childhood friends Chris and Joe making a 'pinky promise' to become world-famous toymakers. In the present day, Chris is the high-powered CEO of CJ's Toys, a company where she has prioritized business metrics over the magic of play. Kathleen Keller, the retiring CEO of the industry giant Arlo Toys, proposes a merger that would install Chris as the new CEO of the combined corporation. However, a legal hurdle remains: Joe Sullivan, who left the company seven years prior after a falling out over the company's direction, is still listed on the articles of incorporation and must sign off on the deal. Chris tracks Joe down to his father's antique shop and 'toy hospital.' Joe, still harboring resentment over Chris's corporate shift, refuses to sign unless Chris spends the weeks leading up to Christmas volunteering for his 'Toy Drive Jamboree.' Simultaneously, Chris's sister Heather goes on a last-minute musical tour, leaving Chris to babysit her niece Emma. Emma is a talented songwriter who feels stifled by her school's rigid rules, finding a kindred spirit in Joe. Throughout the volunteering process, Chris is guided by a mysterious bell-ringing Santa named Nick, who repeatedly encourages her to slow down and enjoy the season. As Chris and Joe spend time together—decorating a tree, visiting a nostalgic 'Christmas Café,' and ice skating—the romantic tension between them resurfaces. The conflict peaks when Kathleen Keller arrives at a community movie night, reminding Joe that Chris's primary motivation is still the corporate merger. Chris eventually delivers a successful presentation to the Arlo board, but a conversation with Kathleen reveals the lonely 'price' of being married to one's job. On the eve of the merger, Joe signs the papers to ensure Chris's happiness, but the gesture prompts Chris to have an epiphany. Realizing she doesn't want to be a corporate cog, Chris turns down the Arlo merger at the last second. She returns to Joe, proposing they start a new company together called 'Corner Stand Toys' that focuses on imagination and heart. The film concludes with Chris and Joe confessing their love for one another and celebrating the success of their new dollhouse toy, while Nick the Santa watches from afar, implied to be the real Saint Nick.
