    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The angel's name is Harold Wagner, a literal pun on 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing'.
    • The angel's supervisor is a hot dog vendor named Jerry who mentions God does a great Matthew McConaughey impression.
    • The protagonist's dead grandfather returns to Earth specifically to help his granddaughter get a boyfriend.
    • Harold wears a watch that counts down the exact seconds until Christmas Eve.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film begins with Corrine Nelson, a music store employee and piano teacher, feeling lonely during the Christmas season while being pursued by her ex-boyfriend, Tim. Corrine cherishes a glass caroller ornament and a scrapbook belonging to her grandmother, Emily, which tells the story of her grandfather Henry, a glassblower who died in WWII and left behind unfinished music. In a celestial subplot, an angel named Harold is assigned by his supervisor Jerry (who poses as a hot dog vendor) to help Corrine find true love by Christmas Eve so he can earn his wings. Harold joins Dave’s music store as a seasonal temp and quickly identifies that Dave, Corrine’s long-time friend, is her true match despite being stuck in the 'friend zone.' Harold begins coaching the shy, practical Dave on how to be more romantic, encouraging him to buy a new suit and make grand gestures. The conflict peaks when Tim attempts to win Corrine back; she initially agrees to a date, but becomes disillusioned when she realizes Tim is self-absorbed and doesn't understand her heart. The emotional turning point occurs when Corrine discovers that a thoughtful ornament she received was actually from Dave, not Tim. Dave further proves his love by donating instruments to the community center and completing the unfinished song Corrine’s grandfather wrote decades ago. On Christmas Eve, Corrine performs the completed song as a solo at the community concert, and she and Dave finally confess their love. Before departing for the afterlife to reunite with his wife Emily, Harold reveals his true identity to Corrine by giving her Emily's scarf and playing the family song. The movie concludes with Corrine and Dave looking at an old photo in a scrapbook, confirming that Harold was indeed her grandfather, Henry Stockton.
